Webinar Market Outlook "A Tale of Two Halves"

JAKARTA, 14 December 2022 - In 2022, there have been many economic upheavals in the global market, starting from the never ending political tensions between Russia and Ukraine to the prolonged COVID lockdown in China. This resulted in an increase in inflation and interest rates in the majority of countries in the world, which shook the movement of capital market instruments.

However, what is happening on the global market is exactly the opposite of what is happening in Indonesia, the national capital market is actually developing quite well with the growth of new investors reaching 2.5 million investors throughout 2022 or a total of 10 million investors. This was due to the improvement in the national economy which was able to sustain the performance of domestic stocks and bonds and limit the effects of global risks.

In 2023, there are several factors that can support Indonesia´s economic performance, such as the increasing energy crisis in the world due to the Russia & Ukraine war which resulted in strong demand for export commodities from Indonesia. Another factor is in terms of household consumption expenditure which is considered to be quite good.

In response to this, PT MNC Kapital Indonesia Tbk (BCAP) through one of its business units MNC Asset Management (MNC AM) held a Market Outlook Webinar with the theme "A Tale of Two Halves", on Monday, 19 December 2022 at 15:00 WIB, presenting speakers Ivan Chamdani (Chief Investment Officer of MNC Asset), Dimas Aditya Ariadi (Chief Marketing Officer of MNC Asset) and Muhamad Sugiarto (Fixed Income Manager of MNC Asset) and will be guided by Angelia Chandra as moderator.

Ivan Chamdani said, "In 2022 there was indeed quite high volatility in the Indonesian capital market, but behind all that our national economic conditions grew well, and that could be a positive signal for the performance of our bond and stock markets. The factor of increasing Indonesia´s commodity exports is also a good fundamental, especially for the Indonesian stock market, "said Ivan.

Likewise, Muhamad Sugiarto argues, "It is true that in 2022 government bond yields will fluctuate significantly due to the benchmark interest rate. But what about in 2023, will the bonds be good again? You can join the discussion in the market outlook webinar later."

According to Dimas Aditya, "The Market Outlook webinar will later discuss how the market is optimistic in 2023, because there are several sectors that are developing next year and are starting to be seen. And we will also provide views on opportunities for mutual funds in 2023," said Dimas.

The webinar, which will be held on December 19, 2022, is open, but limited to 100 participants and is free of charge. Immediately register yourself by clicking the link bit.ly/MarketOutlookMNCAsset.
