Support the Government in Solving the Jiwasraya Case, This is MNC Asset Management´s explanation

Jakarta, June 26, 2020 – Named as one of the suspects in the corruption case of PT Asuransi Jiwasraya (Persero) (“Jiwasraya”) , MNC Asset Management (“MAM”) confirmed that the mutual fund product owned by Jiwasraya is a single investor and only one product from 36 mutual fund products managed by MAM.

"Jiwasraya only has one mutual fund product, namely MNC Dana Syariah Ekuitas II, and this has no impact on the other 35 products, besides that the total managed funds in the MNC Dana Syariah Ekuitas II product is only 2.9% of the total managed funds. at MAM as of June 26, 2020,” said Frery Kojongian, President Director of MAM.

Previously, investigators from the Attorney General´s Office (“Kejagung”) had named 13 corporations as suspects in the Jiwasraya case. This amount is about 13.4% of the total Investment Managers (“MI”) registered with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) as many as 97 MI. Meanwhile, the total managed funds of the 13 MIs reached 48.2 Trillion Rupiah or around 10% of all funds managed by the mutual fund industry as of the end of May 2020.

After the determination of the suspect, OJK through the Deputy Commissioner for Public Relations and Logistics, Anto Prabowo said "Regarding the determination of 13 MI as suspects in the Jiwasraya case, until now the 13 MI are still operating as usual because there has been no restriction from the AGO" in a written statement (25 /6).

Frery also revealed that customers do not need to panic because MAM is one of the Investment Managers (MI) registered and supervised by the OJK who always complies with the applicable laws and regulations. Furthermore, Frery said that "During its 20 years of existence, MAM as a business unit of MNC Financial Services will always prioritize the interests of customers and always comply with the applicable laws and regulations".

"We urge all customers not to worry, because until now the subion, switching and redemption processes are still running normally. We will always cooperate and comply with the ongoing legal process,” added Frery.
